Owner's Guide

Welcome to your SOREN

You've just become the owner of a Swiss Made automatic watch, built to be worn and made to last for years. This guide walks you through everything you need to know: how to wind it, set the time, adjust the strap, and care for it properly.

A mechanical watch is a little different from anything battery-powered. It lives on movement, it asks for a bit of attention, and in return it runs for decades. Take a few minutes to read through this, and you'll get the most out of yours from day one.

If anything is unclear, we're one email away at support@sorenwatches.com.

SOREN behind the scenes

Owner's Guide

How to get the perfect fit

You can adjust the fit in two ways. For a small change, use the rails in the clasp, no tools needed. For a bigger change, remove links using the adjustment tool that comes with your order.

Adjustable rails in the clasp๏ผ‹
The rails in the clasp
The clasp has several positions on an adjustment rail. Slide the clasp to the position you want for fine-tuning. Ideal for the difference between a warm and a cold day.
Need to size down more? Remove links with the tool
Find the arrows๏ผ‹
1. Find the arrows
On the inside of the bracelet you'll find a small arrow on each removable link. It shows which way the pin needs to be pushed out.
Place it in the tool๏ผ‹
2. Place it in the tool
Position the bracelet in the tool so the pin lines up to be pushed out in the direction of the arrow.
Push the pin out๏ผ‹
3. Push the pin out
Turn the tool slowly and keep it exactly on the pin. Line it up precisely, or you risk bending or breaking the pin. Repeat for each link you want to remove.
Put the pin back๏ผ‹
4. Put the pin back
Push each pin back in the same way you removed it. If it still sticks out slightly, press it flush using the base of the tool.

Setting and using your SOREN

My watch has stopped. Is it broken?

No. Your SOREN is an automatic watch, which means it winds itself through the movement of your wrist. If it has been sitting unworn, it will simply have wound down. Put it on and wear it, and it will start running again on its own. There's no need to shake it or wind it by hand.

How long does the watch run when I take it off?

Your SOREN has a power reserve of 38 hours. That means once it's fully wound from wearing, it will keep running for up to 38 hours after you take it off. Leave it off longer than that and it will stop, which is completely normal. Just put it back on and it starts again.

How do I use the crown?

Both the Momentis and the Oceanic have a screw-down crown, which keeps water out. Before you can set anything, you first need to unscrew the crown by turning it towards you until it releases and pops out. When you're done, always screw it back down firmly. This is important, especially before the watch comes into contact with water, as an open crown lets water in.

How do I set the time?

Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the second position. Turn it to set the time. When the crown is in this position, the second hand stops, so you can set the time precisely to the second. Once set, push the crown back in and screw it down firmly.

How do I set the date?

Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first position to adjust the date. Our tip: set the date to one day before today, then push the crown out to the second position and turn the time forward until the date rolls over to today. This way you know for certain whether the watch is set to AM or PM, which the date change tells you. Then continue to the correct time.

Is there a time I shouldn't change the date?

Yes. Avoid changing the date manually during the night hours, roughly between 9 PM and 3 AM. During this window the watch is preparing to change the date on its own, and adjusting it by hand at that time can damage the mechanism. If you need to set the date, move the hands to a daytime position first.

How do I adjust the strap for a better fit?

You can adjust the fit in two ways. The clasp has a set of rails that let you fine-tune the length without removing anything. For a bigger change, you can remove links using the adjustment tool that comes with your order. See the steps above.

Can I change the strap completely?

Yes. When you order an extra strap, it comes with a spring bar tool. Remove the spring bars on both sides of the current strap so you're left with just the case, then fit the new strap the same way using the spring bars and the tool.
